The spoken language in Fuerteventura is Spanish. In the touristy areas, hotels and restaurants almost everybody speaks English or German, so you don’t have to be fluent in Spanish to travel around the island. If you want to learn some Spanish vocabulary for your vacation, here are some useful Spanish words and phrases for your trip.

Currency

The currency in Fuerteventura is Euro. You can find cheap meals in local restaurants between 10-15€ per Person. An average beer at a bar can cost 1,50€ up to 2,50€ - always depending on the location.

Electricity

The electricity supply in Fuerteventura is 220 volts/50 hertz. It's the usual type like in Germany, France, Netherlands and other European Countries. If you are traveling from UK or Ireland you will need a simple adapter, which you can also purchase on the island.

Entry/Visa

You don’t need visa for Fuerteventura when you are member of the European Union or Schengen and can enter with your passport or Personal Id card. For travelers from all other countries is no visa required if you stay less than 3 months on the island and you will need a passport to enter.

Safety in Fuerteventura

The island Fuerteventura in general a very safe island and you can walk around by day or night without any problem. Like everywhere in the world you need to be smart and take care of your belongings and lock your car or bicycle when you leave it.

Transportation

The best way to get around Fuerteventura is with a car. There are some Bus lines but if you want to safe time and see islands, I recommend you to get a car.
